ResponsibilitiesSandwich Town Seal Extra Small

The Human Resources (HR) Department directs recruitment and all hiring activities for position openings within the Town with the exception of the School Department. HR:

  • Oversees the administration of the compensation and classification policies and practices in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and in accordance with State and Federal laws. 
  • Assists Town Manager's office in preparing and negotiating seven union contracts and in addressing and resolving labor relations issues including grievances, arbitrations and disputes. 
  • Handles all workers' compensation and line of injury claims for all Town and School employees. 
  • Oversees and arranges various trainings throughout all Town departments and assists department heads in a wide variety of personnel matters.
