Dennis to host Cape-wide Latex Paint Take-back Day, Saturday, August 1st, 9 AM - Noon
Bourne, MA – All fifteen towns on Cape Cod have banded together again to tackle the issue of managing thousands of gallons of leftover latex paint. Building on the highly successful program that ran during the summers of 2018 and 2019 which recycled 60 tons of latex paint, a collection for good quality latex paint that is clean, in liquid form and has not been frozen, will be held at the Tony Kent Arena, 8 South Gage’s Way in Dennis on Saturday, August 1st from 9 AM until noon and is open to all residents on Cape Cod. For more information about what paint is acceptable to recycle, go to Townofbourne.com/paint. Oil based or marine paints will not be accepted and neither will household hazardous waste. For options for those items, visit loveyourlocalwater.org.
While the previous program was funded by a grant from the MA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the program for 2020 is funded by all the municipalities on the Cape and will be limited to one event. The paint will again be sent to Recolor Paints, LLC in Hanover, MA where it will be made into high quality latex paint products.
