TRANSFER STATION WEBCAM: The Town of Sandwich has placed a webcam at the Transfer Station to allow residents to see if there is a waiting line at the access road. The webcam image is updated every minute. Click "refresh" for current image.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

The Town of Sandwich Transfer Station is located at 500 Route 130.

The facility is open to residents on Wednesdays (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.) and Thursdays through Sundays (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.).

The Transfer Station is closed every Monday & Tuesday, and on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Questions concerning the Transfer Station may be directed to the Department of Public Works, (508) 833-8002.

FEES:
CAR REGISTRATION OR PROOF OF RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A STICKER.

Residents must purchase a sticker to use the Transfer Station. Stickers are sold at the Tax Collector’s Office, Town Hall Annex, 145 Main Street, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Questions pertaining to stickers sales should be directed to the Tax Collector’s Office, (508) 833-8012.

Stickers and pricing will now be valid from July 1st through June 30th each year. The current (calendar year) 2014 stickers are valid through June 30, 2015.

Sticker Fees

1st Residential Sticker: $55.00 (effective 7/1/14)
2nd or 3rd Sticker (must be from same household): $10.00
Commercial Sticker: $150.00

Non-Routine User Fee Tickets (Per-Item)

Cathode Ray Tube (TV & monitors) $10.00

Chlorofluorocarbon appliances (Freon) $10.00

Bulky Items:

Upholstered Furniture, Mattresses, Box Springs & Throw Rugs (Wall to wall & padding not accepted): $10.00

Empty propane tanks (Tanks larger than 20lbs are not accepted): $10.00

Rimless tires (Passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks ONLY, other types not accepted): $10.00

One Trip Transfer Station Pass

Household trash in Pay-As-You-Throw bags and everyday household recyclables ONLY: $10.00

TRANSFER STATION RULES:

- Stickers must be affixed to the lower left corner of the vehicle windshield.
- Stickers numbers must match vehicle registration numbers.
- All loads must be adequately covered and all waste must be bagged and/or bundled.
- All waste must be of Sandwich origin.
- Residents using this facility do so at their own risk.

Accepted Items:
- everyday household waste from a single household
- recyclables (i.e., glass, cans, newspaper & cardboard)
- appliances (i.e., washers, dryers, stoves, freezers & refrigerators)
- yard waste (i.e., leaves and lawn trimmings)
- all furniture
- bedding
- rugs
- oil tanks (cut in half)
- air conditioners

Prohibited Items:
- Oil-based paint or hazardous waste*
- Brush and demolition material


*Periodic collection days for household hazardous waste products occur annually during the Summer/Fall months. Contact the DPW at (508) 833-8002 for information on locations, dates and times.
