Online Permitting

The Town of Sandwich Building Department announces Going Live with Online Permitting. 

Now all Residential, Commercial, Electric, Plumbing, Gas, Stove, Tent, Sheet Metal, Sign, Sprinkler/Fire Alarm, and Driveway permits will be completed and submitted online.  All required supporting documentation will be attached in a digitized format, saving money on the printing costs for  oversized plans, etc.  

Applicants are now able to submit Building Permit Applications online 24/7.  Staff review will be done during normal business hours.  

Applicants are now able to create their account through Permit Eyes, which will store pertinent information to expedite future permit application submissions. 

Applicants are able to print their issued Permits to be kept onsite as well as having the ability to view Departmental Sign-Offs to include comments or additional submission requirements.  Applicants are able view Scheduled Inspection Dates and Inspection Results in real time. 

As in past practice, all Inspection requests must be scheduled, by the applicant, during normal business hours, via telephone (508-888-4200) or in person at the office.  

Applicants can now pay their fee online using a credit card or EFT (check), we will also continue to accept payment at the office.

Although communication between the Applicant and our Staff will be achieved via a ’chat’ tool within Permit Eyes, where the process will be tracked throughout the entire project, our staff as always, is available to assist you via telephone (508-888-4200) or in person at the office.  Our Kiosk in the lobby is available along with staff support as well.

Quick overview of the process will be as follows:

  • Click the ‘Start’ Button
  • Create/Login to your Permit Eyes Account
  • Click ‘New Application’
  • Choose the appropriate Permit Application

Please be sure to review ‘Plan/Departmental Requirements’ (top right corner) which, if applicable will be required to be attached in PDF format

  • Complete all the required fields    
  • Click ‘Submit’ OR
  • ‘Save and Exit’ (Allows applicant to return at a later date to complete their applicaction submission)

When application has been submitted

  • Click the ‘Home’ icon
  • Click the ‘eye’ on the left of screen for applicable permit
  • A Transaction Monitor will open on the right
    • Click the ‘paper clip’ icon to attach required PDF’s
      • Plans
      • Additional documentation
      • Committee/Commission approvals
    • Click the ‘chat’ bubble to communicate with the staff
    • Click the ‘eye’ icon to review the application
    • Click the ‘pencil’ icon to edit application
