Online Permitting
Town of Sandwich Building Department Online Building Permitting continues to be a success!!
We have now been utilizing our Online Building Permitting Software, Permit Eyes for over two years with success.
Our office, located at 16 Jan Sebastian Drive continues to be open to the Public. Our normal business hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Of course, we are still available to assist via telephone and email.
SCHEDULING INSPECTION REQUESTS: All Inspection requests for Building, Plumbing/Gas and Electric must be requested via telephone ONLY.
P/G/E performs inspections Mon, Wed and Fri. If you contact our office (508-888-4200) between 8:00-9:00 am on M, W or F you can speak with our Plumbing/Gas and Electrical Inspectors directly. The Inspectors can also schedule 'same day' inspection requests at that time.
Building performs inspections Mon-Fri. If you contact our office (508-888-4200) between 8:00-9:30 am on M-F you can schedule 'same day' inspection requests.
For your convenience, any one of our staff will be happy to schedule inspection requests for the next available day when contacted outside of the above listed days/hours.

Getting Started:
- Click the green ‘Start’ Button (scroll down to find)
- Please be sure to bookmark/favorite the Permit Eyes Login screen so you do not have to access through the Town Website
- Create/Login to your Permit Eyes Account
- Click ‘New Application’
- Choose the appropriate Permit Application
- **Be sure to utilize the PDF links in the top right and left corners of all applications to assist with 'Plan/Departmental Requirement' attachments and Fee Schedules
Requirements for a Successful Submission:
- Complete all mandatory fields (marked with a red *)
- Click ‘Submit’ OR
- ‘Save and Exit’
- Allowing applicant to return at a later date to complete their application submission)
- Status will read ‘pending’ if application was successfully submitted
- Status will read ‘partially submitted’ if application was not successfully submitted and requires more information
- Review the mandatory fields
- Review the ‘I have read’ boxes
Navigating your Successfully Submitted Application:
- Click the ‘eye’ icon (first column on left)
- The Transactions Monitor panel will open (Right side of screen)
- You will now be able to attach all required documents as listed on the 'Plan/Departmental Requirements' located in the upper right corner of your application.
- Click the ‘paper clip’ icon to attach applicable required documentation
- Construction Documents
- Plot Plan
- Approvals from Historic, Conservation and/or Board of Appeals
Monitoring Application/Permit Status
- You will be required to login to your Permit Eyes Account
- Each permit is shown in a single line
- Click the ‘eye’ icon (Left column)
- The Transactions Monitor Panel will open (Right side of screen)
- ‘Chat Bubble’ icon
- Communication with the staff
- When staff writes a message an email is generated notifying you to login to your Permit Eyes account to view the message

- To view your application
- ‘Pencil’ icon
- Edit application
- Once application is successfully submitted only minimal editing is allowed
- Staff is available to assist with any additional editing

Payment
- Fees are calculated during the Building Department review process
- You will receive an email to include an invoice along with notification to login to your Permit Eyes account to pay
- You may use credit/debit card or eft check
- You can also make a payment in the office
- Be sure when login in to your Permit Eyes account you click the 'eye' icon in the left column to open the Transactions Monitor
- You will see a green 'pay now' button
- Be sure when login in to your Permit Eyes account you click the 'eye' icon in the left column to open the Transactions Monitor
- You will receive an email to include an invoice along with notification to login to your Permit Eyes account to pay
Applicants are required to print Permits to be kept onsite during the project.
You can now to track Departmental sign-off, Scheduled Inspections and Inspection Results and apply for Amendments to existing permits.
IMPORTANT INSPECTION INFORMATION
All inspections must be scheduled via telephone (508-888-4200).
Building Inspections are performed 9:30 am – 1:00 pm Monday through Friday and can be scheduled the day prior but no later than 9:30 am the day of the requested inspection.
Plumbing/Gas/Electrical Inspections are performed 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and can be scheduled the day prior but no later than 9:00 am the day of the requested inspection.
