Cancellations and closures for 9/16:
After serious consideration and out of an abundance of caution, the Sandwich Recreation Department has cancelled all programming for this Saturday, September 16th.
We apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as making this judgement call early in the day is always hard.
Please know your and your family’s safety is always our first priority.
Please note the following closures:
• The Hoxie House and Dexter Grist Mill will be closed Saturday & Sunday 9/16 & 9/17
• ALL SOCCER PROGRAMS are cancelled – now starting 9/23
• All ADULT FITNESS classes are cancelled. Tone Club at Sandwich Rec - Saturday Am classes have been cancelled.
• Town Neck Beach Gate will be locked on Friday at 4:00 Pm and reopened on Sunday 9/17

Oak Crest Cove Park-
The Oak Crest Cove Park is home to a one of a kind community designed Skate park and to two regulation sized tennis courts and six pickle ball courts! The Recreation Department has a new registration system .Therefore, if you have not created a household account with us since January 2021- you will be asked to do so before you are able to register. The Sandwich Recreation Department’s mission is to offer quality, diverse, affordable, and inclusive recreational and leisure opportunities that enhance the citizen’s quality of life while promoting health, happiness and community engagement.
In addition, to providing recreational programming the department oversees fresh and saltwater beaches, museums, community events and recreational facilities. The Recreation Department with the collaboration of a full time staff of three employees and two year- round, part- time personnel, along with over 100 seasonal staff and volunteers, and with the support of other town departments the recreation department continues to ensure the health, safety, and wellness of the community we serve.
