This increase is not related to school reopening. The Town is seeing COVID positive young adults and healthcare employees in their 50’s. Some of the young adults are college students studying out of the region but attributed to a local address. Several adults are asymptomatic healthcare employees working in the region. These cases can be attributed to surveillance testing of healthcare employees by the state. This is a positive effort intended to reduce healthcare related spread of the coronavirus.
In response our Public Health Nurse is in daily contact with patients in quarantine and the COVID-19 Command Team will be in personal contact with the leadership of our local healthcare and assisted living facilities to reinforce safety practices and to ensure they have the PPE needed to protect employees and patients. You can help! Sustain your good hygiene, social distancing, wash your hands and wear a mask.
